Gabriela Galíndez is from the El Paso, TX / Ciudad Juárez, MX region. Her artwork is mainly focused on political and social issues. She received her Master’s in Latin American and Border Studies from the University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP) and her Bachelor’s in Fine Arts from the School of Visual Arts (SVA) in New York. Galíndez is a recipient of the 22nd Annual Outstanding Student Achievement Award in Contemporary Sculpture from International Sculpture Center. Galíndez resides in El Paso where she aims to assist youth in the use of art as a tool for social change, and where she researches local immigration issues.
