zarf (containers) was created for a RML book exchange event that was hosted by BRUNA press + archive (Bellingham, Washington) in 2017. The book is comprised of reproductions of family photos, treasured objects, and a found story. When the folded book is opened, the inverse side features the artist’s immigrant parents, pictured next to a favourite recipe. All of these are evocative of the burden carried by the generation who risks much to arrive in a foreign culture.
