Graham McGarva completed this chapbook during his participation in The Writer’s Studio program (Simon Fraser University, Vancouver, Canada). Three parts of the poem reflect on an inlet in central Vancouver known as False Creek, at different times in the writer’s history: 1998, 2007 and 2016. McGarva’s situated knowledge of this part of the city is significant. False Creek welcomed him as an immigrant, his contributions to the design of its built environment reflect his career as an architect and city builder, and it is where he now lives.
